Growing up I was always told I was a lot like my Father. But as the years go on, I see more and more similarities come out that remind me of my Mom. Just little things, sometimes the way I speak, sometimes the way I look at the world and apparently my obsession with the Pixie Cut.
In most of the English speaking world, when you say “Pixie Cut” you immediately think Mia Farrow. I don’t. I am 100% sure that this is due to my Mom’s love of Jessica Rowe’s hair cut. When I think “Pixie Cut”, I immediately think “Jessica Rowe”. To all you non-Australian readers, Jessica Rowe is an Australian Television Presenter/Journalist. I never really understood the obsession growing up but as I have gotten older, I find myself more and more obsessed with this hair style. So much so that I now feel the need to text my Mom any Pixie Cut I see, it sounds kind of ridiculous now I say it out loud, or write it down rather.
Sadly, I do not think I could rock the Pixie Cut very well. However, I am super duper impressed (and a tad jealous) of those who are able to rock this hairstyle. I will say that my gorgeous Mother is one of those people.
So, I was definitely happy to see the style had made a bit of a come back at this year’s Golden Globes! Okay, I mean there were only two stars rocking the trend but as soon as Kate Hudson stepped onto the Red Carpet, I texted my Mom a photo, then later one of Zoe Kravitz. I am totally on the Pixie Cut band wagon.
On a separate note, can Zoe Kravitz get any hotter? I am not sure it is possible…
Anyway, I am hoping that one day I will be courageous enough to chop of all my hair and pull off the Pixie Cut but for now I will just have to live vicariously through these beauties. For the sake of fairness (and content), I have also added some of my other favorites who also rock this style.
Side Bar: Being the Number One fan of Big Little Lies, you better believe I included all of these kick ass actresses in the post even though only one of them has a Pixie Cut… Deal with it!
